Clean Eating Snack Bars



I am a firm believer that eating clean and keeping all the preservatives and food additives out of are diet is only in favor of our health.  We are still a nation of busy on the go lifestyles.  We are always running from one thing to the next.  So it is important that we have some pre packaged snacks in our car or at our desk at work so when we have to make an impulse snack decision it is a wise one.  I have compiled a list of snack bars that fit into the clean eating guidelines.  I have personally tried them all and they are all approved by my tastebuds!   I have even listed my favorite flavors for each one.  They are all tasty and will satisfy your hunger in a pinch!  

When looking for a nutrition or snack bar always check your ingredients.  Look for all natural clean eating ingridents (no hydrogenated oils, no food coloring, food preservatives etc). If you are not familiar with clean eating take some time to get label savy.  Clean foods contain just one or two ingredients.  Keep in mind some snack bars do have several ingredients but if they are dates, apples and pears it is considered clean!  Any product with a long ingredient list is human-made and not considered clean.  Here is more information  on understanding labels and ingredients in food from The Gracious Pantry.



Almonds and Apricots with Yogurt Kind Bar is Free of:
Gluten, + Low glycemic index

They are a good choice just by their appearance.  You can tell what is in it from the outside of the packaging.  They have a big variety of flavors too! Most have some type of nut and fruit in them.  If you get any that have a chocolate of yogurt coating remember that adds in more calories.  My favorite is the almonds and apricot with yogurt.

These bars come in a big variety of flavors from PBJ to Apple Pie!  They are small but pack a lot of nutritious calories.   Their ingredients are simple and just a few natural items.  They are sweetened with dates rather then refined sugar. My favorite is cherry pie.  






Apple + Pear That's It Bar is Free of:
 Gluten, Preservatives, GMOS, Cholesterol, + Raw + Vegan

THAT IS IT!!! Just apples and Pears!  no other unnecessary ingredients.  These are an amazing snack to keep for on go snacking.  I keep them in my sons diaper bag so we
 both have a snack for later!  It is something we can both have which makes snacking 
so much easier.  



Crunchy Cranberry Apple Rise Bar is Free of:
 Gluten, Preservatives, GMOS, Cholesterol, Dairy, Soy, Peanuts + Kosher

These yummy breakfast bars pack the right amount of protein and fiber to substitute for a light morning meal.  Just pair with a glass of low fat milk or lowfat plain greek yogurt, and you're good to go!  My favorite is crunchy cranberry apple.
